Dr. Courtney Mewett

Dr. Courtney Mewett was born and raised in St. Catharines, Ontario. She graduated from the University of Rhode Island where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences, Summa Cum Laude (with highest distinction) while playing soccer for the Rams on a full division one athletic scholarship. She then pursued her dental degree and graduated as a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Toronto, with honours.

After becoming a Dentist, Dr. Courtney Mewett was one of four individuals selected to complete a competitive multi-disciplinary hospital residency, recognized nationally through the University of Alberta in Edmonton. This residency provided her with advanced training in many of the specialties of dentistry and allowed her to introduce IV sedation, dental implants and additional procedures to Henley Dental. She is a lifelong learner and continues her education through the Kois program out of Seattle. Kois trained Dentists set a new standard for Dentistry and study the latest scientific evidence based dental systems that enable them to provide the the highest level of patient care.

Dr. Mewett is passionate about volunteering for charitable organizations that provide free dental care to the impoverished. She has traveled overseas to Uganda with Bridge to Health and to Jamaica with Great Shape! Inc. Locally, she has volunteered with the Canadian charity organization Health Mission Outreach. At the University of Toronto Dr. Mewett served as a dedicated co-chair of Oral Health Total Health, a federal non-profit organization that passionately advocates for, educates about, and strives to enhance oral healthcare for individuals with special needs.

Dr. Mewett resides in Niagara with her husband and son. She enjoys trying out new restaurants and coffee shops people recommend and loves finding new hiking trails to explore in the area.
