Tooth Restorations (Fillings)
Keep your tooth whole
Dental fillings use restorative materials to repair teeth which have been compromised due to cavities or trauma.
Dental Sealants
A barrier of protection
Dental sealants, usually applied to the chewing surface of teeth, block decay(cavity)-causing bacteria from entering the grooves of your teeth. Most often, the sealants are applied to the back teeth.
Cleanings
Your mouth: a window to your overall health
Removal of plaque and calculus (tartar) from the teeth above and sometimes below the gum line is critical in preventing Periodontal or gum disease (an infection that affects the gums and eventually jaw bone, which can lead to a loss of gum and teeth). There are two major stages — gingivitis and periodontitis. Gingivitis is the milder and reversible form; periodontal disease is often more severe. In some cases, gum surgery will be required to reverse the effect of the disease.
Dental Implants
The closest option to getting your natural tooth or teeth back
Implants are complete replacement of missing teeth. A titanium screw is placed in the bone and after proper healing a crown is placed on top of the implant to provide a new tooth.
Dental Crowns (Tooth Caps)
Fit for royalty
If your tooth is damaged but not lost, a crown can be used to restore its shape, appearance and function. You may need a crown if you have a root canal, a large filling in a tooth or a broken tooth.
A crown, also called a cap, is a hollow, artificial tooth used to cover a damaged or decayed tooth. The crown restores the tooth and protects it from further damage. Crowns can also be used to cover a discoloured or misshapen tooth. A tooth that has been fixed with a crown looks and works very much like a natural tooth. Crowns are also placed on top of dental implants.
Dental Bridges
Bridge the gap
A bridge is a dental restoration that replaces one or more missing teeth. It extends across an area that has no teeth and is typically made up of an artificial tooth fused between 2 crowns. (A crown is a hollow, artificial tooth that fits over a natural tooth or a dental implant). The bridge is held firmly in place by your own teeth on each side of the missing one(s) or by dental implants. A bridge is permanent and cannot be removed.
Dental Root Canal Therapy
Keeping your natural tooth
Root canals treat diseases or abscessed teeth. Once a tooth is injured, cracked or decayed, it is necessary to open the tooth and clean out the infected tissue in the centre. This space is then filled and the opening sealed.
Tooth Extractions
Eliminate the source of infection
A severely damaged tooth may need to be removed. Healthy permanent teeth may also need to be taken out for orthodontic treatment.
Full Dentures & Partial Dentures
Be proud of your smile again
Dentures are removable prosthetic devices replacing lost teeth. There are two types of dentures – partial and full. Full dentures are often referred to as “false teeth”.
Oral Cancer Examinations
At Henley Dental Oral cancer screening is always an important part of a dental examination
Oral cancer starts in the cells of the mouth, tongue or throat. In this exam, your dentist and hygienist will feel for lumps or irregular tissue changes in your neck, head, face, and inside your mouth. Your dentist and hygienist will also look for sores or discolored tissue in your mouth.
